  1. It was interesting. I think the Studio Ghibli movies can pass all questions of the Bechdel Test. These movies include many elements except love and make me deeply impressed. I think women are not men's rewards. I should choose movies which I show my children carefully.

  2. It is interesting that there are much main characters of female in older movie like "The Wizard of Oz" than newer movie like "Star Wars".
I agree with speaker. I also want children to have courage to join the team leading woman.

I think movies that we have watched in childhood have huge influence on us.
I don't think all modern movies are bad, but old movies that have been watched right now have reasonable reason to keep watch over years.

  3. I'm interested in this presentation. The Bechdel test is also interesting. Definitely, there is usually only one woman in a movie for example heroine. Always man is protagonist in many movies. Women are protected by men. People think men is more superior than women since long time ago.
However, Frozen is different. There are two heroines. Some experts say that is the point of popularity. So, I think way of thinking about gender is changing.

  4. I was impressed in this presentation. Because I did not think that modern movies fouses the spotlight on only men befofe watching this ted talk. Dispite now I learn about feminism at University.
In my opinion, modern movies are not so bad for not only women but men. I think modern style movies in not always connected to the sexual assault of women. But I suggest it might be good for not only boys but also girls to see the movies which woman is leader or active. I think it is more possible to grow or maintain a good relationship between men and women in doing so

  5. I think there are many attractive modern movies in the world, but sometimes they may give bad affects to kids. Children are so honest and have interets in everything,so if children watch a violent movie, they may imitate that.
I think if I have children,I make my children watch Disney'moveis becouse Disney'movies make children kind, strong, expressive and creative person.

  6. I think that it's a great talk in that a man who has a daughter think seliously about boy's violence to girls. I don't know how much kid's movies have an influence on it, but we can think about patriarchy through such movies. I want to change the way to see a movie, and I try to understand what movies really want to teach us.

  7. I was sueprised that one out of five women in America have been sexually assaulted. I think it's big number. However, there are only 11 movies of the top 100 in 2011 female protagonist. This figure is small for me.
It's interesting to know the Bechdel test. I didn't have that point of view. I think the Bechdel test show that women denpend on men. Many movies may not pass this test because there are still men-dominated movies like war movies and even Hallywood films may flunks it.
However I like modern movies. Like Frozen, Disney princess movies are changing with times.

  8. I thought this presentation was interesting, but, for me, it's not very important whether women are appearing on the movie. I don't think the character changes with a seen movie. There are also many good movies now.

  9. I think that this presentation is wonderful ideas and it is new view for men's society. Also, I was surprised becouse this speaker is man,so I think it is rare case. According to this presentation, there are many man's characters and man's society in modern movies and I agree this ideas. However, at the same time, I think that the movies that a woman plays an active part increase recently. For more increse, The Bechdel test is so important. Also, it is important to get "girls power" and "boys power" for kids in movies.
    I like this presentation.
