I didn't like the course bacause the listening of this course was difficult for me. However, I had a good experience of high quality listening every week such as Ted Talks. I suggest to listen to a news or a famous person's speech. They are more difficult but they would raise our listening skills.
The mid and last examinations were difficult. If there were some poses between questions, that would be great. I wanted to watch more movies or drama series during classes. Speaking of textbook, those are not interesting for me. More intersting topics would good. However, we had many oppotunities to listen to many materials, those were helpful for me.
I like this class. Before I had this class, I didn't know about Ted Talks. Ted Talks makes my listening skills better. There are many interesting presentations, so I enjoyed listening English. Also, the text of this class is good. All of the topics we studied are interesting. I think my summary skill improved, thanks to this class. I want to improve my listening skill more, so I want to watch Ted Talks, movies in English, and listen to music in summer vacation.
I think Ted and movie is good text to improve our listening skill. We can learn how to express our thinking and feeling through movies and Ted. Moreover summarizing these improve our writing skill too. To summarize, we can understand better.
It's hard for me to watch Ted and movie without subtitles. But it's good idea to watch those things to develop listening skills. I want to watch more movies in the class. The movies that are too difficult to understand are not suitable material.
I think Academic Skills is difficult but it is very beneficial for me. I didn't like to listen to English, but thanks to this class, I got to like to listen to Englshi and now I'm good at listening to English a little. I wanted to watch movie more. Also lectures were a little quickly.
It was interesting class for me, because I could use English a lot, and learn about literature or culture through English. Sometimes using and listening to English is hard for me, but I think it was good training to get used to English. I think most of this class should be more active, this class might be much well. Also, it was good opportunity to watch TED.
This course was a little difficult for me. It was a little hard to listen all your words correctly, but I enjoyed because I learned about different cultures, Shakespeare and so on and they were interesting for me. I will try hard in the second semester!
Listening to TED was interesting for me. Also writing our thoughts about it was difficult but I thought it is important thing so it was good opportunity. The test was a bit difficult because speaker speaks a bit fast.I thought putting English subtitle is going to be easier to understand and write down.
I liked the approach that we watched DVD and made notes, talked about the contents, then wrote the summary. I thougt that by doing it, we might be able to aquire the ability of English with enjoyment. And there was no content that I'm interested in, so the textbook in this class was boring for me. But I understand that it is useful to study.
My favorite things in this class is that I can learn new things and get new knowledge. Foe example, I did't know that Shakespeare has so many brothers and sister's and how to read Shakespeare's works before studying this course. I think that the knowledge that I got this lecture is useful in the future. No good point in this class is sometimes topic is little hard for me. The test about Canada is too hard to answer the questions. I think it may be good to use more easy and interesting topics in this classes. Also sometimes volume of video is difficult for me to hear. I like to watch TED Talks, because their English was very easy to catch. It was also fun to watch movie. At the first class, the sound of the screen wasn't heard, but that was improved, so it was good. I have nothing to complain about. Thank you for teaching me English.
I could get two skills listening and writing by this course. So It was good for me to get two skills at once.Some contents that text, TED and movie are difficult but I could know someting so it was interesting.Especially,I like TED because I could listen to interesting stories. My suggestions to class is that movie is long and we can think about this theme deeply so it is good to increase movie's part.

Lesbian woman Morgana Bailey said that the length of life expectancy for LGBT people in highly anti-gay communities is 20 years shorter compared to other society. She has not thought that she had to come out her truth bring lesbian but this data changed her mind, also for hiding it, she missed an opportunity to support other LGBT people. Her friend’s father who serves in the Representatives voted for the law not supporting LGBT people and the law passed. That could be changed by her courage. She now strongly believes that she will be able to change reality outside.
